Book Bag Buddies was inspired by my passion to help others achieve education equality and my desire to work with communities to better the lives of adolescents, tweens and teens.
I want to ensure that every child is prepared to learn and succeed by providing free school supplies nationally to students most in need.
When I was 15 years old, my parents introduced me to the movie Girl Rising , directed by Richard E. Robbins, which follows the stories of girls from third world countries in their pursuit of the basic right to education. The Girls Rising movement raises awareness about the issue, inspires action and drives resources to communities in need through community screenings and outreach.
The Girls Rising movement inspired me to think about a related problem that we encounter here in the US. There are many under-financed communities that do not have the necessary tools and supplies to provide a proper education to their students.
I created Book Bag Buddies to collect school supplies for the under-privileged throughout the US. Click here to meet me >>
